Gemtek Technology Co., Ltd. and affiliated subsidiaries follow the norms stipulated by the Responsible Business Alliance (hereinafter referred to as RBA), conducting policies that are in alignment with labor, ethics, health, safety and environmental approaches. By way of instituting the Cloud and Supply Chain Coordination Structure within its business strategy, Gemtek also endeavors in promoting advanced applications to supply chains and subcontractors. We hope that all colleagues, subsidiaries and suppliers work together to create a sustainable and developing corporate environment, and that the company may unequivocally fulfill its corporate social responsibilities.

Labor Policy

  • Prohibit the use of child labor and any forms of forced labor (including debt bondage, indentured or involuntary labor, confiscation of identity or immigration documents, plus unreasonable restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement, freedom to leave work at any time or terminate their employment, and the right to refuse overtime).
  • Compensation paid to workers shall comply with all applicable wage laws.
  • Respect human rights and human dignity. No one shall be subjected to harsh or inhumane treatment including corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion, insults, and harassment.
  • Provide equal employment opportunities. Prohibit discrimination against individuals based on race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity or national origin, pregnancy, religion, political affiliation, union membership, or marital status in all employment practices such as hiring, promotions, rewards, and access to training.
  • Respect freedom of speech and freedom of association. Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. Allow employees to openly communicate and share ideas and concerns with management regarding working conditions and management practices without fear of retaliation, intimidation, or harassment.
  • Establish a healthy and safe working environment to safeguard employee health and well-being.

  • There were no major occupational accidents in the year 2023 (including subcontractors).
  • There were no incidents of child labor employment in the year 2023.
  • There were no incidents of forced labor grievances reported in the year 2023.
  • In 2023, all new employees have completed Human Rights and Occupational Health and Safety Training guided by the RBA Code of Conduct.

Environmental Protection Policy

  • Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Reduce both energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions to achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction targets.
    - Enforce energy management policies. Outline roadmap to achieve carbon reduction goals.
    - Comply with energy conservation regulations. Research and develop eco-friendly products.
    - se renewable energy and materials in production. Adopt low-carbon emissions strategies.
    - Practice resource recycling. Implement source reduction measures.
  • Wastewater Treatment and Reuse : Reduce water consumption and adopt efficient treatment solutions.
  • Air Pollution Prevention: Reduce carbon emissions and air pollutants to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Raw materials, Chemicals, and Wastes: Reduce the use of raw materials and the production of hazardous waste.
  • Environmental Impacts Associated with the Product Use Stage: Minimize the negative environmental impacts generated during the product use stage.
  • Environmental Impacts Associated with the Product End-of-Life Stage: Maximize reuse and recycling of products.
  • Consumer Health and Safety: Commitment to guarantee that the product does not compromise consumer health and safety.

Management Indicators
  • Starting from 2022, we aim to reduce 50% of greenhouse gas emissions as per Scope 1 and Scope 2 of GRI 305: Emissions 2016 by the year 2030, with the ultimate goal of attaining net-zero emissions by 2050. In addition, key suppliers are required to cut 30% carbon emissions as per Scope 3 of GRI 305: Emissions 2016 by the year 2030.
  • Starting from 2022, we aim to reduce 5% of water withdrawal intensity by the year 2030.
  • Gas emissions has consistently met regulatory standards, and there were no instances of air pollution.
  • Minimize environmental impacts by reducing raw material consumption, increasing recycling rate, decreasing waste generation, and complying with regulatory requirements. In terms of waste classification and reduction, starting from 2022, Gemtek aims to increase its annual corporate waste recycling rate by 1% and above, reaching a total of 55% corporate waste recycling rate by the year 2030.
  • Green Products & Sustainable Procurement:
    *Enclosure Materials: Increase the procurement ratio of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic and metal materials. Compared to 2022, our PCR-certified materials made up 12.1% of our procurement volume in 2023, and we aim to achieve 90% by the year 2030.
    *Packaging Materials: Increase the procurement ratio of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials for packaging. Compared to 2022, our sustainable and environmentally friendly materials made up 28.5% of our procurement volume in 2023, and we aim to achieve 90% by the year 2030.
  • Rate of used products being refurbished: 90%.
  • Ensure that products are 100% safe and pose no potential health hazards to consumers.

Anti-corruption Policy

Gemtek Technology Co., Ltd. (“Gemtek” or “the company”) operates by the principles of business integrity and abides by the laws and ethical standards of the country where it operates. The company does not allow any forms of corruption or fraud, nor any unfair and anti-competitive behavior to exist within the organization. Gemtek has established the “Ethical Code of Conduct”, “Business Integrity Policy”, and other norms as the bedrock of its business practices. Directors, supervisors, executives, employees, and suppliers are expected to strictly refrain from participating in any forms of corruption or bribery.

Grievance Mechanism
Gemtek has set up a designated channel for stakeholders to submit any corporate social responsibility-related suggestions or complaints. Employees can express their opinions or report complaints through the company's suggestion box or other methods that are posted on the company website. Handling Mechanism
Gemtek will assemble an ad hoc committee to address and resolve complaints if a violation of the code of conduct is found to be true. Based on the severity of the violation, the accused party will be subject to administrative discipline, and efforts will be made to recover any improper benefits and pursue legal responsibilities. Gemtek aims to enhance the company's management and internal control procedures by leveraging these incidents to raise employees' awareness of the consequences associated with unethical conduct and prevent future occurrences.

Management Indicators
  • In 2023, all new employees and key suppliers are required to sign and comply with the regulations specified in the "Integrity Commitment Statement" in an aim to eliminate any forms of unlawful corruption or unethical business practices. Document completion rate is 100%.
  • In 2023, all employees participated in the Anti-corruption Training guided by the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct. Training completion rate is 100%.
  • There were no incidents reported regarding the violation of business integrity and corruption in the year 2023.

Business Ethics Policy

  • Business Integrity: Zero-tolerance policy to prohibit any and all forms of bribery, corruption, extortion, and embezzlement.
  • No Improper Advantages: Bribes or other means of obtaining undue or improper advantage shall not be promised, offered, authorized, given, or accepted.
  • Disclosure of Information: Information regarding labor, health and safety, environmental practices, business activities, structure, financial situation, and performance shall be disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations and prevailing industry practices.
  • Intellectual Property: Intellectual property rights shall be respected. Transfer of technology and know-how is to be done in a manner that protects intellectual property rights. Information that is relevant to the company, customers, and suppliers shall be safeguarded from third parties.
  • Fair Business, Advertising and Competition: Standards of fair business, advertising, and competition shall be upheld. Protect customer information by signing Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Protection of Identity and Non-Retaliation (Whistleblower Protection Policy): Ensure the confidentiality, anonymity, and protection of whistleblowers, allowing individuals to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Privacy: Commit to protecting the reasonable privacy expectations of personal information of business partners (including suppliers, customers, employees, and stakeholders). Comply with privacy and information security laws and regulatory requirements when personal information is collected, stored, processed, transmitted, and shared.

  • There were no incidents reported regarding the violation of the Anti-trust law or Anticompetitive practices in the year 2023.
  • There were no incidents of data breaches in the year 2023.
  • In 2023, all employees participated in the Business Ethics Training (including Business Integrity, No Improper Advantages, Fair Business, Intellectual Property, Privacy, and Protection of Identity and Non-Retaliation) guided by the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct. Training completion rate is 100%.
  • There were no incidents reported regarding the violation of business ethics and integrity in the year 2023.

Sustainable Procurement Policy

  • Sustainable Procurement Policy: Reduce adverse impacts on the environment. Increase the use of renewable and green resources. Promote a green and low-carbon supply chain. Encourage key suppliers to compile greenhouse gas inventories.
  • Environmental and Social Aspects of the Sustainable Procurement Policy: To ensure that products and components comply with international directives such as RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and other relevant standards. The policy includes requirements for the prohibition of hazardous substances that are detrimental to the environment and adheres to restrictions and limitations on the use of hazardous substances as required by customers.
  • Labor and Human Rights Aspects of the Sustainable Procurement Policy: To ensure that suppliers adhere to international labor and human rights standards, safeguard workers' rights, and eliminate child labor and forced labor.

Management Indicators
  • The completion rate for the signing of the Declaration of Environmental Protection and the Halogen Free Declaration by suppliers is 100%.
  • Aim to achieve 30% in local procurement for the entire supply chain.
  • Gemtek adopts ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) practices in its business operations. In addition, both internal employees and external partners (including upstream suppliers) are held to the same standard in the context of fulfilling corporate social responsibility and contributing to global environmental protection. We also prioritize ESG as part of our supply chain strategy goals and uphold a zero-violation record for labor rights policies. The completion rate for the signing of Supplier CSR Declaration and RBA Commitment Statement is above 80%.
